Youth are the experts of their own truths, and we aim to honor their voices and stories. Our 40 of the 40 list highlights 40 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth who have experiences with homelessness and provides them opportunities to be engaged in our work nationally and within their home communities. Youth featured on the 40 of the 40 list have become spokespeople for their communities, representing them in local and national forums (like April 2015’s White House briefing on youth homelessness and the National Alliance to End Homelessness Conference) and have contributed to publications from leading national organizations (like the Center for American Progress).
