We know that all youth count, but are we counting all youth?

Point in Time (PIT) Counts are mandated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and are intended to provide a 24-hour snapshot of a county’s homeless population. The PIT Count is one way to collectively understand the scope of homelessness in the country as a whole, as well as within individual communities.

We have developed a toolkit for communities interested in planning specific strategies for counting youth during their PIT counts, as methods used to count adults often don’t capture youth.
