The True Colors Fund is currently developing True Connect, a mobile app that will connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth experiencing homelessness across the country with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

The first phase of the mobile development project will use data from the True Colors Fund’s existing True Inclusion Directory, which is a growing database of homeless youth service providers that are inclusive and affirming of LGBT youth. The app will present the directory, listing data in a way that is accessible for young people. We understand that LGBT youth experiencing homelessness need more than just shelter, so future phases of the project will focus on expanding on our True Inclusion Directory by integrating public datasets. We want True Connect to link youth experiencing homelessness to a myriad of resources, including mobile charging stations, gender-neutral restrooms, food, shelter, job readiness programs, mental/physical health services, WiFi hotspots, and more.

Youth will have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experiences with the services they find in the app, which will allow the True Colors Fund to ensure the integrity of our directory.
