  • About the Organization

The Sacramento LGBT Community Center creates events, programs, and pathways to services that help lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people feel welcome, needed and safe. We envision a Sacramento region where sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression (SOGIE) are recognized as a spectrum of valued personal characteristics, universally respected and affirmed.

    Youth Specific Programs

The Wednesday Night Youth Group is dedicated to being a safe place for LGBTQ and allied youth between the ages of 13-17. We create this space through discussions, guest speakers and facilitated game nights. The group strives to keep our youth informed and give them the ability to make safe life choices as they grow. Ages 13-18, Wednesdays 6-7:30pm in the Q Spot

The Friday Night Youth Group is a safe haven for LGBT youth where we support at-risk individuals, provide positive social interaction, promote a non-alcoholic youth culture, further LGBT education, and increase comfort in Sacramento for the LGBT community and our issues. Ages 17-21, Fridays 8-9:00pm in the Q Spot

The 20-Somethings Group focuses on issues common to our community, including but not limited to socializing, networking and career development, and community service involvement. Ages 20-29, Thursdays 8-9:00pm in the Panepento Family Room.

The Q-Spot Youth Drop-In Center is located in the lower level of the Center and is open to youth ages 13-22 Wednesdays and Fridays 3-6pm.

The Q-Spot provides a safe place for LGBTQIA2-S youth, and all youth to hang out with friends, play games, watch TV/DVDs/YouTube, listen to music, and learn new skills. Youth specialists are on hand to help you access services including healthcare, housing, food, employment, and education. They can also help you with homework or writing a resume. We offer access to free and confidential HIV testing and safe sex kits through our Health Outreach Program. And we are in the process of setting up the availability of a fresh shower, laundry, and simple meals and snacks for youth who need help with these basic needs.
